In every Kindermusik for Babies Class, you’ll get to…

  • Bond. In our busy lives, it is hard to reserve the bonding time that we so crave. Our Kindermusik baby class offers you a place to create lasting memories with your child, gain new insights into your child’s development, and nurture your child’s musical imagination.
  • Play Instruments. Your baby’s exploration of age-appropriate and child-safe instruments will enhance their sense of rhythm and steady beat, help develop a keen awareness of the distinguishing qualities of sound, and encourages spontaneity and creativity. Instruments used include shakers, bells, drums, chime balls, tambourines and much more!
  • Roll, Crawl, Move and Dance. A classroom full of joyous movement helps a little body develop the muscle strength needed to roll over, sit, crawl, stand and walk. It also helps a little heart to fall in love with the sheer joy of responding to music. Every movement activity is modified to accommodate the development stage of each baby. Enjoy lap bounces, musical tummy time, infant exercises and much more.
  • Listen. Hearing is something we are born with, but the ability to listen is something that is learned. Your baby will hear a variety of different sounds to help improve listening skills and to gain auditory awareness. From the chugging sound of the choo choo train to the ribbits of the frog. Watch your child’s eyes light up with delight. In addition to sounds, your baby will also get to hear a wide variety of music from diversity cultures. This builds strong neural networks in a baby’s forming brain and greatly aids in speech development.
  • Relax. Your baby will gain body awareness and improve relaxation and calming techniques through gentle infant massage, cuddles and rocking songs. You get to gaze in those beautiful eyes and watch a sense of calm wash over your baby.
  • Communicate. In this class, language development is paramount. Not only will your baby get to activate their lips, tongue and voice through vocalization and sound play, but they will also get to learn some basic words using American Sign Language. Both of these help promote early parent/child communication success.
  • Socialize. In a clean, baby-safe environment, you’ll meet other caregivers and little ones just like you who value music, learning and bonding. Connect with other families for support and share tips to make every day musical and joyful.
  • Receive Expert Advice. A Kindermusik Educator explains what-to-watch-for every step of the way, and how each activity enhances your child’s complete development.

After class, your learning continues with Kindermusik@home…

  • Every 4 weeks, you’ll receive a new downloadable music album with 15-20 songs, featuring the same awesome music from class. By playing the music at home and in the car, your baby will get the repetition needed to acceleration their language development!
  • The Kindermusik@home website includes fun and interactive stories, games and family activities to compliment the learning we do in class further enhancing your child’s growth and development.

Kindermusik for Babies Monthly Unit Descriptions

Mama Goose: Nursery rhymes endure for a reason. They’re quirky, rhymey, and memorable–and are also magical for speech and language development, as they work to “wire” the brain for communication before speech even begins! What bliss to share something with your child that your parents shared with you–or better yet, to learn and share one for the very first time! Welcome to Mama Goose.
Zoom Baby: Bumpity-bump, zippity-zoom, babies are on the go! This unit is packed with move-move-movement, as spatial development takes focus. Activities that explore distance, speed, placement, reaching, dancing, rocking, bouncing, and wheels-on-the-bus-ing all get baby zoom-zoom-zooming to big smiles in Zoom Baby.
Old MacDonald: Time to tune up baby’s listening ears, because we’re off to the farm! With a hee-haw here and a cock-a-doodle there–when Old MacDonald gets involved, you never know whom you might run into. We'll learn so many animal signs and hear all those cool animal sounds! We'll even make a barnyard movement ensemble!
Peekaboo!: A house with a baby is a house full of love. (And fun…and toys…and noise!) Peekaboo! peeks into the “1, 2, 3, punch” patterns of repetition, anticipation, and surprise. Have fun with vocal play, sensory exploration, and learning through play.
Music Makes My Day: If you think about it, your day-to-day routine is a lot like a piece of music. Ups, downs, repetitions, patterns, fast parts, slow parts, and lots (and lots) of improvising! Music Makes My Day focuses on daily rituals and parts of the day, and gets you thinking about anticipation, improvisation, singing, instruments, new rituals, and other ways to make your same-old routine fun and musical.
Night, Night: It’s nighttime, but not quite bedtime yet! Let’s use our vision to explore the night. We’ll see the moon and the twinkling stars, and say hello to Wee Willie Winkie and the man in the moon! Finally, it’s time to get ready for beddy-bye—with bathtime, a little playtime, and then it’s time to say Nighty Night!
Little Red Caboose LogoLittle Red Caboose: All aboard! Little Red Caboose is all about you guessed it trains, trains, trains! Hitch on up for a chuggity-chugg voyage through train sounds, train movements, train activities, and train songs. Woo-woo!
Bluebird, Bluebird LogoBluebird, Bluebird: Chirp! Tweet! Quack! Bluebird, Bluebird is a sound-rich flight (of fancy) into the sky, where you’ll explore birds, feathers, and the outdoors. Join the birds as they tweet and peck around in the spring time; hear the sounds of bees and baby birds coming alive in the summer; and follow the flight of the wild geese in autumn. Vocal play is our focus in this unit as we help develop babies hearing and emerging vocal skills.
Busy Days: Who says babies have it easy? These sure are Busy Days–all around town, with errands here and adventures there, and fun and movement ’til the day is done. We'll help baby navigate their busy schedules by focusing on social and emotional development!
